Which age groups are the learning journeys suitable for?

Programmes can be planned for kindergartens and preschools, primary and secondary schools, junior colleges and institutes of higher learning. Activities and facilitation are adapted to the students’ age and learning objectives.

How long does a school learning journey take?

Kindergarten and preschool journeys typically run for one hour, while programmes for primary-school students through tertiary learners typically run for two hours. The final format will depend on the agreed programme.

Can the programme be customised to our curriculum?

Yes. City Sprouts can work with educators to shape the programme around student profiles, curriculum outcomes and learning priorities such as science, sustainability, outdoor education and environmental stewardship.

What should students prepare for the visit?

Students are strongly advised to bring water bottles and sun protection, and to wear covered shoes. Depending on the weather, hats, sunscreen and ponchos or umbrellas may also be useful. Final preparation details can be confirmed before the visit.

What happens if it rains?

Outdoor activities may be adjusted or moved to suitable sheltered or indoor facilities depending on weather conditions. The applicable wet-weather arrangements will be shared with the school before the programme.
