Where colour meets cake

What happens when colour exploration meets the delightful world of cakes, pastries and decorative confections? Welcome to Colour Lab: Clay Cafe, a playful, two-part creative experience where children discover the magic of colour and transform simple clay into imaginative food-inspired creations.

In our pretend-play cafe, young chefs become colour mixers, cake designers and clay artists. Through hands-on experiments, visual recipes and creative challenges, they explore how colours work together while learning to shape, construct and decorate their own miniature treats.

👩‍🍳 What young chefs discover

Two courses of creativity

Part 1 · Colour Lab

Mix, Match & Experiment

How do primary colours combine to create new colours? How can a little white make a colour lighter, or a touch of black change its character? With a colour wheel as their guide, kids discover how to create secondary colours, experiment with shades and tints, and understand how colours relate.

Then the cafe opens! Using playful menu cards as inspiration, children mix their own clay colours, create miniature pastries and desserts, and invent their very own signature treat.

Part 2 · Shape Kitchen

Build, Sculpt & Decorate

Inspired by decorative cakes and confectionery, children learn to shape clay, build simple structures and create 3D decorations: tiny figurines, flowers, candles, lettering and icing-inspired details. They explore how shapes and textures come together in a themed celebration cake.

With inspiration cards to spark ideas and space for their own expression, every child interprets the theme their own way, creating a cake that reflects their imagination 💭
