Farm-to-Table Laksa: Meet the Farmers Behind your Food
Farm-to-Table Laksa: Meet the Farmers Behind your Food
A rare chance to reconnect with farming & food right here in Singapore
In Singapore, almost all our food comes from elsewhere. It arrives neatly packaged, grown by people we’ll never meet.
Tucked away in the West Coast, a community farm is quietly showing another way: growing food and community right in the middle of the city. It’s a reminder that even in one of the world’s most built-up places, food doesn’t have to begin in a factory or travel far to reach us. It can start right here, in the soil, tended by local communities.
In this experience, you’ll meet the farmers and hear the stories behind this community farm. You’ll harvest ingredients like lemongrass, laksa leaves, ginger and sugarcane, then use what you’ve picked to cook your own laksa lunch and share it with the people who grew it.
When you’ve met the farmers behind your food and harvested part of your own meal, freshness tastes different. Laksa becomes something new when you’ve grown part of it yourself. The distance between “farm” and “table” collapses into a single experience.
In a city where life moves fast, this experience offers something rare: a moment of connection - to food, to the people who grow it, and to the simple idea that farming and cooking together can build a community.
