Di Bawah Bintang, Di Tepi Laut: A Dinner with Orang Laut SG
Di Bawah Bintang, Di Tepi Laut: A Dinner with Orang Laut SG
- 7pm to 9pm
- City Sprouts West Coast
Step into an intimate evening of heritage, storytelling and Southern Islander cuisine with Orang Laut SG.
While many of us have learnt about Singapore’s history, few have had the opportunity to hear the stories, traditions and ways of life of the Southern Islanders directly from the people who continue to keep them alive today.
Through food and conversation, discover how life along the Singapore Straits and the wider Nusantara has shaped our shared heritage in ways that are rarely experienced firsthand.
As the sun sets, gather around the table for a feast of Southern Islander dishes including Sotong Hitam, Asam Pedas Ikan Tenggiri, Sambal Udang, Gulai Nenas and more—each carrying stories of memory, place and belonging.
More than a dinner, this one-night-only gathering is an invitation to listen, share a meal and leave with a deeper connection to a living part of Singapore’s maritime heritage.
