About Founders and Folks

For Youths, By Youths: Founders & Folks is a youth-focused initiative designed to inspire social and environmental entrepreneurship among youths by bringing together leaders of the future through storytelling, interactive workshops, and a curated marketplace. With a strong emphasis on youth-enabled sustainability initiatives and community-building, Founders & Folks aims to spark meaningful conversations and empower youths to take tangible steps toward a greener, more inclusive future.


Founders & Folks: Innovators of Tomorrow – A Human Library:

Innovators of Tomorrow allows participants to find out more about how different entrepreneurs have innovated and thrived in their respective fields! Participants will be able to find out more about how to develop their initial ideas into tangible businesses, all with environmental sustainability at the forefront of their minds.


The different fields include:

  • Applications/Technology that promote individual sustainable action through gamification (Stridy)
  • Sustainable Food/Snacks (Moonbeam.co)
  • Sustainable Farming, Programmes/Workshops (City Sprouts)
  • Energy Data and Controls to reduce energy consumption (Ecovolt)
  • Sustainable Art (Serial Co_)

Yasser, Chief Stridy Officer

Stridy is a non-profit tackling global waste issues like littering. Using its app, individuals can track their cleanup efforts. Yasser began with weekly beach cleanups, which deepened his love for nature and strengthened his commitment to protecting both coastal and inland environments.

Eugene, co-founder of Ecovolt

EcoVolt is a startup tackling “vampire energy” — power drained by idle devices. Co-founded by Eugene and fellow NUS students, it offers hardware and software solutions that track and reduce plug load wastage, helping organisations cut energy use and make smarter, sustainable choices. Incubated at BLOCK71 since April 2025.

Ernest, Co-founder of Serial Co_

Ernest Wu, an NTU graduate, co-founded SERIAL CO_ with Jake Tan in 2019 to blend physical and digital experiences through creative tech. Based in Singapore, the studio creates immersive works that explore contemporary issues—often including sustainability—through art, technology, and culture, encouraging audiences to reflect and engage meaningfully.

Kong is the Co-Founder of Moonbeam.co, a creative sustainability studio using storytelling and design to inspire climate action. They co-create workshops, campaigns, and products—like Wholesome Granola, made from upcycled brewers’ spent grain. Kong’s journey began with a belief in narrative’s power to spark inclusive, imaginative change for our future.

Simone is the Co-founder of City Sprouts, a social enterprise transforming underutilized urban spaces into vibrant, community-driven hubs for sustainability and learning.Under her leadership, City Sprouts has impacted over 1,000 beneficiaries in 2023 through eco-education, urban farming, and inclusive community initiatives.
